The Bardiche

The Bardiche was a rather unusual polearm weapon. It was similar to a poleaxe and similar to a halberd yet it was neither. This is a weapon that is not as well known as other polearms because it saw its use in eastern europe and scandinavian countries. One of the things that make it different is the lack of a hook opposite the blade. The hook on polearms was used to draw knights down off their horses. Although, with the shape of the bardiche it can be seen that the bottom end of the blade had a certain amount of hooking ability. The bardiche overall has a very poleaxe look but the blade is much narrower.
